Privacy Policy

Savfor is an app for saving places you want to visit, ranking the ones you've been to, and planning trips — on your own or with friends. This policy explains what we collect and how it's used, in plain language.

What we collect

• Account: your email address, a username, and a password (passwords are stored hashed — we can't read them).
• Your content: places you save, scores and notes, photos you attach, trips and itineraries, who you follow, likes, and your taste preferences.
• Imports: if you import a social post or screenshot, its text or image is processed to pull out the place names, then used only to create your saves.

We do not collect advertising identifiers or your contacts, we do not track your location in the background, and we show no ads. If you allow location access, it is used once to center the map and is never stored.

What other users see

Savfor is social: your username, profile, and the places you save (including scores and notes) are visible to other Savfor users, such as your followers' feeds. Don't put anything in a save you wouldn't want another user to see. You can block any user, which removes their content from your view, and report any account or post from their profile.

Services we rely on

• Supabase (hosted on AWS, USA) stores your data, protected by row-level security so each account can only reach its own records.
• Anthropic (Claude) processes imports, trip plans, and recommendations. Only the text needed for the feature is sent (for example, a post caption or your saved place names and preferences). It is not used to train AI models.
• Google Places powers the place-name search when you save a place manually — your search text is sent to Google to find the match.
• OpenStreetMap serves map images; your device requests tiles directly, so OSM sees your IP address like any website you visit.
• Public web sources (a place's own website or Wikipedia) may be checked for a preview photo of a place you saved.

We never sell your data, and we share it with no one beyond the services above.

Deleting your data

You can delete any save, photo, or trip in the app. To delete your entire account and all its data, go to Me → Settings → Delete account — deletion is immediate and permanent. You can also email us and we'll do it within 30 days.

Children

Savfor is not directed at children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to create an account.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or erase your data. Email us and we'll help.

Changes

If our practices change, we'll update this page and the date above.
